Base's story starts when Rossco transferred from Australia to the Napa Valley to sell wine. On one of his business trips, he visited Phoenix where he met a lovely young lady (now his wife). After moving to Phoenix for love, Ross continued to sell wine. But back in Australia, Carlee and her husband Michael (Rossco’s Sister and Brother in-law) were working in corporate roles but looking for something else.

They wanted to start a small family business. Michael had a passion for food and more specifically pizza after working in a Italian restaurant through college. Carlee had a passion for organic, farm to table produce and supporting other local, family owned businesses. Rossco wanted to use his years of experience in the wine industry and his love of chatting to create a unique wine list and a great, family atmosphere in al restaurant.  By putting together their experience, passion and desire for a small, family owned restaurant, Base Pizzeria was born.
